Never Call Your Friends and Relatives Again
For all of you who have been told that creating wealth through network marketing begins with writing out a list of your friends and relatives, there's hope. I am here to tell you there is a better way!
It's called Permission Marketing.
Permission Marketing means that the only people you have to put on your list are people who have asked to be on that list. From now on, your list need only consist of people who opt into receiving your emails and telephone calls because they want information about how you can help them create wealth.
Seth Godin, who literally wrote the book called Permission Marketing, contrasts it to what he calls, "interruption marketing." When a network marketer calls a long lost neighbor, who moved away five years ago, to invite her to an opportunity meeting, that's interruption marketing.
And when a complete stranger approaches you in a public place and says, "you would be great in my business," that's also interruption marketing.
Interruption marketing intrudes. Interruption marketing invades. Interruption marketing does not establish a relationship prior to blurting out a sales or opportunity message.
But when you see a classified ad with a 24 hour recorded message that will show you how to replace a job you hate and a boss you loath, that is permission marketing.
When you submit your email address to a website that offers to help you spend more time with your family, that is permission marketing.
And when you request a free ebook that offers to help a single mother stay home with her babies, that also is permission marketing.
Permission marketing offers a real benefit, right now, to opt onto an email list, leave your telephone number on a voice mail system or subscribe to an email newsletter. This also allows you to opt out of that same list if you decide it just isn't for you.
I am not saying you cannot talk to your friends and relatives, sometimes you already know if they are looking for a way out of the rut (translation: "job")they are in. But here's my promise to you: Once you master permission marketing, you will be able to create wealth faster and build your network marketing organization bigger than any of those folks who told you to begin by calling through a list of your friends and neighbors.
You don't have to embarrass yourself, you don't have to risk relationships, and you don't have to feel like a lazy failure if you don't write out a list of 200 people you know. There are many, many people who are looking for a way to change their lives with what you have to offer. All you need to do is set up the procedures to let them find you.
