Mortgage - Loan Officers Who Think Differently Will Have Different Levels Of Income

May 15, 2008 By: admin Category: Refinancing Mortgage Loans

I read the book "What to say When You Talk To Yourself" (Shad Helmstetter) several years back and it put a whole new perspective on my thought process. I also listen to different speakers, Tony Robbins being one of them.

I heard Tony say on a tape, "you can think positively about your garden not having weeds, but that won't change anything. Along with thinking this way, just go out and pull the stinking weeds!" OK, maybe I'm not quoting exactly, but you get the point. What I got out of it was simply you have to have action to go with your thoughts. Just because you think something doesn't mean it's going to happen.

How does this relate to Loan Officers and Mortgage Brokers? Well let's see if we can put everything into perspective and follow the structure of positive thinking in the mortgage business, shall we?

OK, there are WAY too many people in the mortgage business that take this positive thinking stuff only half way. Oh, I think you MUST have positive thinking to succeed in this business, but that's not the only thing. You can sit at your desk all day long and think nothing but positive thoughts, but then what? At the end of the day your still sitting at your desk without any additional prospects. That doesn't do you any good, does it?

The positive spin on everything is a GREAT way to train yourself to look at things differently, but you also need to act with these thoughts. No need to get into the psychological stuff about being positive, but if things aren't going the way you would like, what does having a different outlook on it cost you? Nothing, and you just may like the results....even in the Mortgage Business
