Loan Officer Training - Are You Utilizing Your Natural Skill To Grow Your Mortgage Business?

May 15, 2008 By: admin Category: Refinancing Mortgage Loans

No matter who you are, you probably have some sort of "natural skill" hard wired into your brain. Natural ability can be defined as some kind of activity you do that just comes easy for you.

Some folks are good with numbers, some folks find it easy talking with strangers, some are in tune to the fine details within documentation. Those are three traits that successful Loan Officers have to continually grow their business.

The amazing part is, hardly anyone is "naturally good" at all three of those. BUT, all three of those can be learned in time, and then they become natural. Get it?

In the Mortgage Business, most people say that if a Loan Officer is has good people skills, they will be ahead of the game. This may be true, but developing "natural skills" in other aspects of the business are just as important to succeeding, wouldn't you agree?

The point is, natural ability can be learned. While this ability is being learned, it may not seem natural, but after it's ingrained or wired into you, then could it be said to be natural?

The Loan Officer that is exceptional with numbers may not be a Dale Carnegie by any stretch, but that ability can be learned, right? The LO that is friends with everyone may not be the most detailed person around, but that skill can be learned as well, right?

The most successful people in life take what their natural ability, use it to the fullest and develop other natural abilities along the way. The more well rounded you are, especially in the mortgage business, the more successful you'll be.

And now I would like to invite you develope your "Inner Mortgage Game." If you're a Loan Officer, this information is critical to your ongoing success in the Mortgage Business.
