Gaining Financial Freedom (Part 1) Discover Your Purpose
We spend a huge part of our lives working and earning income. The question that begs to be asked is What are you financing with that income?
A typical individual today works an average of 52 years during their lifetime to have the money to pay the bills each month and to accumulate enough for retirement so they can pay the bills until the end of their days. That is a form of slavery to the current, agreed upon, economic system.
A person working just to pay the bills is, to a large degree, financing the goals and purposes of others. Doesnt it make sense, then, to figure out what YOUR real purpose is and finance that? If you had the financial freedom to do anything you wanted, what would you be doing? Figure that out, and you are right on top of your PURPOSE.
Thats the first step on the road to financial freedom -- discovering your own true purpose. What could you be doing that would make you eager to jump out of bed in the morning, and be so excited that you could hardly go to sleep at night? What is it that you have always wanted to do with your life to make a difference? (You know you can make a difference, right?)
The bigger game is to break the chains of economic slavery, and accumulate the wealth to pursue YOUR true purpose. The most important rule of the game requires that income be high enough to set aside funds every week to gain YOUR financial freedom.
Discovering your true purpose creates a high necessity to fund it. When working to fund that purpose, it becomes easier to say no to barriers such as enticing invitations to spend money on unnecessary items that erode your progress toward financial freedom.
A couple in the handyman business was trudging along on the work-to-pay-bills treadmill. In debt, and just making it, they grew less and less motivated to keep working at their business. One evening they attended a seminar about Games, Goals and Purposes. When they worked out what their true purpose was, their business suddenly became the vehicle to fund that purpose.
Action was taken to raise prices, limit the jobs accepted to large, profitable projects, and subcontract some of the work to increase production. Suddenly, the business was booked 6 months in advance with work. The debt was paid off and cash flowing in was channeled toward a much bigger game than just paying the bills.
How can you get off the work-to-pay-bills treadmill and have the freedom to do what YOU want to do? The first step is to figure out what your true purpose really is and you will be willing to do whatever it takes to start setting aside the funds to GAIN YOUR FINANCIAL FREEDOM to pursue that purpose.
