Free College Scholarships Ease Financial Burden of College Education

July 21, 2008 By: admin Category: Education Financial Aid

Its no secret that college tuitions have skyrocketed over the last decade. College scholarships have also become harder to qualify for, as competition for the available funds has risen.

College scholarships used to be less competitive, when college tuitions were somewhat reasonable and living was generally less expensive. Scholarships that existed during those times were less sought after and less well-known, therefore seemingly more plentiful.

What many people dont know is that there are many different sources for absolutely free college scholarships. Some of these free scholarships are given out by different non-profit organizations and civic organizations. There are an abundance of free scholarships for some seemingly-odd categories. Some are so odd, in fact, that they go unclaimed because nobody knows they exist!

These scholarships are only available to students who are 18 years and older, so there does seem to be a limitation, unless you dig a little deeper. When reading the FAQ (frequently asked questions) at the web site, their policy states that a friend or family member of the student can apply for the scholarship on their behalf and simply give the funds to the student in need, if they are awarded the money.

Searching the web for websites such as this can take some time and you might have to wade through some not-so-honest entrepreneurs to get to the real thing, so be very careful as to who you submit personal information to.

Curt Snow is an internet entrepreneur who has been using/surfing the web since the early 1990s. He owns and operates a computer services company and engages in many different facets of the internet, both for business and for pleasure. You can check out one of his web portals at http://www.googlezilla.com
